LOMAHASHA BORDER POST
PROJECT DESCRIPTION :
The project was the upgrading of the existing border post between Swaziland and Mozambique. The difficulty was the the client requested that the border post should be open and operational during the complete re-novation period.
The existing roof of the structure was removed and replaced with new structural steel frame with coloured metal sheeting. The exposed steel trusses were constructed of curved circular steel sections.
The existing structure of the building was strengthened with concrete columns and ringbeams founded on reinforced concrete pad foundations.
New aluminium windows were placed between the new concrete columns and steel frames.
New stormwater- and sewerage systems were constructed.
